Implementing Official Dispatch No. 986/VTDK – KHĐT dated November 27, 2024 of PVTrans Corporation on the schedule of organizing the Labor Conference, summarizing the production and business activities in 2024 and deploying the tasks of the 2025 plan. Recently, on December 16, 2024, Thang Long Maritime Joint Stock Company solemnly organized the Labor Conference, summarizing the production and business activities in 2024, deploying the tasks of the 2025 plan for the collective Leadership and Employees of Thang Long Maritime Joint Stock Company to look back on the good results achieved in 2024, at the same time to share and recognize the difficulties, challenges as well as opportunities in the coming year 2025, thereby implementing solutions to overcome difficulties, completing the goals and tasks of 2025.
The conference was attended by more than 100 delegates. On behalf of PVTrans Corporation, the conference was attended by Mr. Pham Viet Anh – Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Corporation; Mr. Nguyen Duyen Hieu – Deputy Party Committee Secretary, Board Member, General Director of the Corporation; Ms. Nguyen Linh Giang – Deputy Party Committee Secretary, Board Member of the Corporation; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thinh – Chairman of the Trade Union, Deputy General Director of the Corporation; and members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Board of Directors, leaders of functional departments, leaders of member units of the Corporation.
On behalf of Thang Long Maritime Joint Stock Company, there were Mr. Tran Duy Tan – Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Phan Cong – Director of the company; Ms. Pham Thi Thu Nga – Chairman of the Trade Union chairing the conference, with the presence of members of the Board of Directors, Board of Directors, Board of Supervisors and all employees and crew members of the Company.
At the conference, Mr. Phan Cong – Director of the Company said that the year 2024 is about to pass, witnessing the unstable recovery of the economy in a widespread “spiral of instability”. The world has been facing huge consequences from the endless Russia-Ukraine conflict, violence in the Gaza Strip, the civil war in Syria to the race against climate change and the digital transformation trend. The shipping industry is facing many difficulties due to the tense situation in the Red Sea region, forcing shipping lines to adjust their routes, leading to increased shipping costs. In the general context of the world economy, the global shipping industry is one of the most heavily affected industries and faces many difficulties and challenges. This has greatly affected the Company’s revenue and profit targets. On the other hand, the price of ships traded on the market remains high, hindering investment and fleet development.
Faced with great difficulties and challenges in the domestic and international markets; Thang Long Maritime is proud to be a member unit of PVTrans Corporation and has always received attention, timely support and close direction from the Board of Directors of the Corporation, close cooperation from partners, customers and the utmost efforts of the staff and crew. Thang Long Maritime has overcome difficulties and completed the goals in the production and business plan. Estimated revenue in 2024 is 384 billion VND, reaching 102% of the annual plan and the expected pre-tax profit in 2024 of the unit is 29 billion VND, reaching 116% of the annual plan.
At the conference, Ms. Pham Thi Thu Nga – President of the Trade Union reported on the Trade Union activities in 2024 and key tasks in 2025. In 2024, the unit manages 03 ships operating international routes with the number of Company Union members as of November 30, 2024 being 130 people (of which the office block is 35 people, the Crew block is 95 people including reserve Crew members). Thang Long Company still ensures employment and adequate income for employees. The Company’s Board of Directors always focuses on taking care of the material and spiritual life of employees. These efforts contribute to building a harmonious and stable working environment, employees – members contribute and promote their full capacity, create motivation and strive in work, strengthen solidarity and attachment. Actively contribute to the development of the company’s production and business.
The conference also listened to the presentation on “Assessing the market outlook for 2025, opportunities and challenges” presented by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Chau – Head of Business and Technology. And the presentation by Mr. Pham Minh Chien – Head of HR Department on “Difficulties in recruiting, managing, mobilizing and training crew members of the Company’s fleet”.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Viet Anh – Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Corporation acknowledged the results that TLM has achieved during the year, and highly appreciated TLM’s efforts in the common success of PVTrans over the past many years. On the occasion of the upcoming New Year 2024, Mr. Pham Viet Anh also sent his best wishes to all employees, crew members of TLM and their families.
Mr. Tran Duy Tan – Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company thanked the attention and close support of the leaders of PVTrans Corporation; affirmed that the Board of Directors and employees of Thang Long Maritime will constantly strive and aspire to maximize their capabilities to contribute to sustainable development, promote the spirit of solidarity and take advantage of opportunities to achieve solid progress in 2025 as well as the following years.
